I was whisked away to live with my mother in London when war broke out on the European continent. Managed to get a degree at Cambridge, where I cultivated my skills as as the perfect dinner guest, qualifying me to secure a spot as lapdog to an oil magnate. That positioned me to meet DW, an American utility heiress. Not sure why she took to me; her previous DH was a prince. She did ask me to add a "Von" to my name to make me seem an aristocrat, and of course I obliged.

She was forgiving over my minor affairs here and there and that small matter of my father's collaboration with the Nazis. And I was forgiving of her propensity to experiment with prescription drugs. I am just waiting for the unpleasantness of her last indulgence in her hobby to blow over and resume my life as the perfect dinner guest.

OP back with an update: Uh, so I lost everything in the divorce. HOWEVER, it was the kick in the pants I needed to become a workaholic. I moved to Connecticut, started selling insurance, and married this super classy lady: DAR member, charity work every week, and so imperious she can't keep a maid. Our 16 year old daughter has a rebellious streak, but I think she'll settle down after her upcoming debutante party.

Me. I'm from a tiny Texas town, and worked hard at modeling and dancing to try to make a name for myself. I landed a coveted spot in a prestigious men's magazine. And a huge modeling gig for a company famous for their jeans. I was doing ok for myself, and then I fell head over heels for a man who just happened to be a billionaire!. Not that I cared about his money (what can I say, I have a thing for hot great grandfatherly guys), but when he died I had to fight hard for the money he promised me.

I experienced a lot of trauma in my life, didn't know how to surround myself with good people, and passed some of my issues onto my son. I'm sad to report things didn't end well for us and our rags to riches story.

I followed my ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School (what, like it's hard?) but he ended up being a jerk and after some shenanigans, I fell in love with one of my TAs (he was the LMC one, I was rich).

There’s LMC, and then there’s vows of poverty — I was studying to be a nun. The convent sent me to work as a governess for this grumpy old sea captain, who was all alone with seven children. (Well, alone except for the butler, the housekeeper, a mooching friend and his scheming beard, and an inordinate number of telegrams.) We fell in love, I figured out how to be a stepmom, and we put together a pretty successful recording group. Life was good until a coup sent us fleeing over the border.

I just ran into her on the bus when I was 6 years old. We ate corn from her daddy’s cornfield behind the big barn. Whenever I got older I worked on her daddy’s farm and watched her after dark. When I got older I wrote her name on her daddy’s water tower. It was a romance created in John Deere Heaven.
