There’s no way I could have dated living at home (and that’s why I didn’t attempt to until senior year of college).

I never lived at home again once I went to college bc my parents moved from my hometown. I just stayed in my college city.
I will lose my mind if my kids are still living with me after college. I plan to move away anyway so they probably won't.

Agreed. My immigrant family all lived around and near each other and supported one another. I assure you they were all adults. I don't understand why people have kids and then just wash your hands of them at 18. Christ. They are still in need of parents in some form. I pity your kids (and FTR, I was on the receiving end of "you're 18, beat it" by my parents, so, BTDT).

Me too. Kids need to be fully out by 22, and out for college in dorms at 18. Happy to host Sunday dinners but no inter generational living.

I wouldn't expect to mommy an adult child. I can also live my life with an adult child around. How bizarre you cannot.

White Family (I moved when I was 23 and MY DH moved out at 19..
She can stay as long as she wants, esp. if she's working or going to school and saving money for future. There is no reason an adult kid can't live at home and still be an adult. It's way too expensive, school is expensive, etc., more so when I went through it. If it's the best decision for her, we'll give her her space, she'll help around the house, and we'd make it work.

A lot of people on here do it the opposite way; having kid dorm for $$$$$$ during college and then the kid moved back to their childhood bedroom after college.
