This is crazy. There is no “should” involving when someone should have sex and no one needs to “practice” for future relationships. They can get as skilled as they need to be with a partner they care about whenever that happens.

Ditto. He’s not in college yet. He’s living at home. Rules apply. I’m so tired of parents throwing out- they are 18 what am I going to do? You are still the parent. We don’t need to make it easy for kids to have one night stands. That doesn’t mean we don’t think it’s happening but in an effort to keep kid safe, we seem to be disregarding parenting at all.

What are you trying to accomplish with pointless rules, like a curfew for an 18 year old? Other than being controlling for the sake of being controlling.


Know this would not work for all, but to for us worked to encourage launch by: our house, our car, our rules. If not our house, not our car, their choices.


OP’s kid took metro. And stayed out overnight because it stops running at a certain hour.
