What was so quaint about Fernwood? There is the Marriott headquarter there with all the officer workers, I guess.

The marriott hq is not there anymore.

I don't have any hard metrics, but it does seem like more of the younger families with young kids looking for modern floorplans and better school options.

That's good because it could provide a "neighborhood vibe" for toddlers.

7 figure starter home?

Yes. Definitely. For another example, the Woodacres neighborhood in Bethesda is full of them. (Obviously in part b/c of Woodacres elementary/Pyle/Whitman).

Having said this, Amalyn is def overpriced.

I like it a lot. However, they are over priced. Also, even though interest rates are rising in the market is falling, they are holding steady on the pricing. Of equal concern, 8 feet into Ashburn elementary, which is one of the lowest rated Montgomery county elementary schools for some reason just check out great schools. It also feeds into WJ instead of Whitman or Churchill. But it is priced as if it is in a premier school district. Lastly, the market themselves as downtown Bethesda, but they’re not. They’re across the street from Montgomery mall basically.

I think the townhouse it should be in the high sevens

Hello Amalyn sales team — Thanks very much for the update. The houses are still in a terrible location.

Hard to imagine a worse location, and don’t rely on it remaining in the WJ pyramid

That’s a good thing. WJ isn’t necessarily a great high school.

WJ's awful! No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded.

Bwahahaha!

nO OnE gOeS tHeRe aNyMoRe, iT's ToO crowded!

If "no one" goes there anymore, how can it be too crowded, nitwit? 🤔

What is your price range? That area is practically Rockville, so I’d presonally expand my search there rather than spend this much for a townhome.

What???
Are you crazy??
That is across from WJ high school and definitely NOT practically Rockville.

I live in Rockville, and you'd never mistake it for being almost Rockville. 🙄

WJ the Get-to W school

Walter Johnson is a “W” school in name only.

Comments like yours crack me up... you're so transparent.
You're either bitter or you're a snob, because most people who live in a W school district, would never care enough to make such an insignificant comment.

I don't know much about WJ specifically, because my kids went to Churchill... but there are only two types of people would even bother to state something this ridiculous:

- a bitter person who cannot afford the area that the school is in, so they demean it.

or

- an immature/competitive snob, who heavily invests in/bases their life around absurd tropes like "W" schools, and demeans other people's choices, in order to make themselves feel better & to make up for their own insecurities and/or incompetence.

Something tells me you're the latter -- either way, you should get your priorities in order.

Oh, and FYI... your comment doesn't make WJ look bad, it's quite the other way around.

WJ might be the school I'd recommend first in MoCo, but I'd rather live a little closer in.
