I don’t think so, the school district still doesn’t allow it. They made it clear that even with March 1st they still prefer people wearing masks. Staff for sure. Unless they plan on sending another email, acknowledging CDC new guidelines, but I highly doubt that. FCPS is going to pretend it didn’t even happen. I planned on sending kids to school with masks on the 1st, since I didn’t want to be “that parent”. Not anymore, no masks on March 1st
I am a teacher and I doubt FCPS will give in easily on the teachers. They are so pissed that they can’t control kids and families so they will control us instead. 🙂
I will bet my Monday paycheck that you’re in that toxic FCPS teachers Facebook group.
Which one? The only I’m one in seems to want masks forever.
At happy hour after school there were about 25 of us who don't want that.
Teacher
Same, but the vocal social media group is very much pro mask. I just want kids to hear and understand what I say without going home with a sore throat daily.
Ok. It seems impossible to have an opposing opinion in that group. Hard to tell if that’s a true representation of the county.
That group is NOT representing the majority of teachers in numbers or sentiment. It was the same with returning to school last year. Even after we were vaccinated, there was this impression that all teachers were fearing for their life by returning to the building.
It’s clear there is contingent of whiny, vocal, high flying posters who want to complain about any and everything. I had to get off of it. I was embarrassed for some of them.

All staff received an email today. As of 10:40am this morning, all adults—staff, parents, visitors—have to wear masks. When and if the CDC and VDH guidelines change, they will update the policy and communicate it. They can send an email over the weekend.
They never do though.

So, if they want to be consistent, they need to send out a notice saying no masks are needed inside by anyone starting today (not Tues), per CDC guidelines.
But, I don't know what they are saying in the ACLU lawsuit. That would be the only reason they stick to March 1st.
They always told us parents that they had to follow CDC guidelines...so let's see them do that. Or was that just cover for some other agenda?

Yes, they’d better get on that notice right now because kids will be back in school tomor…oh wait. They have a minute to update the policy.
PP—this cranky, paranoid look isn’t very sexy. Try a different approach.
