Are you really not able to understand the distinction between the CT and VA approaches? FCPS would unmask soon enough -- Omicron cases are in steep decline -- but Virginia made it impossible to reinstate mask mandates when future variants may necessitate it. Parental opt out is not a scientific basis to decide public health measures; it's pure politics.
I applaude McKay for his letter. The loud voices on DCUM to the contrary, most of us in Fairfax are educated enough to understand that the way the General Assembly and Youngkin approached this is pure stupidity.

The FCPS SB played the game of pure stupidity all last year. They were rock stars at it. So this is what you end up with.
A stupid governor and a stupid Chap Petersen?

Anonymous wrote:Why are they so pressed about the mask in school thing? It’s happening everywhere, across the country, in a bunch of blue areas. It’s hardly just us. Honestly McKay and FCPS and the school board members are just coming across like sore losers.

Anonymous wrote:Did anyone notice in the FCPS messaging that Braband equated mask wearing with respect? Total bs. So in other words, you don’t respect educators if you unmask.

Everything I’ve seen is only talking about the kids and parents choice. They haven’t said anything about removing the mask mandate for the teachers. Please tell me if they kids parents have a choice, they also can remove their masks if they want.
Optional if fully vaccinated.
At moderate transmission or lower.
Nope March 1.
See - no one knows anything. Everyone is positive and everyone is different.
I guess we'll wait and see.
The new law doesn't apply to staff. So the only rule that concerns staff masking is FCPS'S "plan". That plan says only vaccinated employees can unmask when Fairfax gets to CDC's moderate level and holds that for 7 days. BUT, CDC will probably change the rules next week....so who knows!

[b]I've been onboard for him and like him a lot, but this was overboard.
And what was with that weird ending? Maybe if he hadn't gone on so long with his rant, he would have had time to check for errors.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"

AGREE! I thought it was way over reactive. Disappointed. We're at 14 new cases per 100k and low positivity! Even Scott Gotlieb says his kids will unmask on Feb 28th when CT makes masks optional.
