I thought he was against it because it hurts business
He praised the council President for delaying action.
Okay. But that’s not a position on the substance. That’s a position on the process.
What’s his position on the the county instituting a vaccine mandate to enter local businesses? Crickets?
If everything with Blair is going to be like this, then he’s going to find himself losing support really quick.
Unless you're being intentionally obtuse it's pretty easy to infer that he doesn't think the county should have a mandate under the current circumstances. I wouldn't want an ideologue candidate (like Hucker, Riemer, or Elrich) who's not willing to change their positions as facts change.
According to you I am being obtuse but it is the candidate himself that is playing the semantic games.
The idea that someone should have to infer a candidate’s position is ridiculous.
He’s like this on every issue. Trying to be too clever by half. It’s transparently obnoxious.

You would presume and your presumption is probably correct but damned if he’s going to tell you. In the end though, despite my reticence, I’ve got to vote for Blair because things need to change and they need to change badly. This county is sitting at a dangerous precipice and I’m afraid that this might be our last chance to pull ourselves back from the brink.
I will admit that I like Elrich. I think he’s sincere. I think he genuinely cares about every part of this county. I think he tries to be inclusive, consistent and fair. I just don’t think he’s effective as a leader.
Riemer and Hucker are just the worst possible stereotype of self-centered, smug, entitled and hypocritical liberals. I actually fault that duo more for our current malaise than Elrich because they have been more influential than Elrich the last decade in terms of policies and that’s why we are where we are.

Seeing that Blair has not actually stated a position on Thrive it’s hard to draw this conclusion.
He stated how duplexes have not been a sustainable way to increase number of units. He specified he wants to encourage density development around metro stations and promote mixed-use projects, indicating a focus towards adding residential units to commercial areas, not the other way around.
Everyone knows that the talk of duplexes is a red herring. Just like the Jawando ZTA, when the Thrive ZTA is proposed it will be four-plexes that get approved. So it’s not really useful to know his position on duplexes specifically. Thrive calls for supporting “all housing types”.
Good point. It would be good to hear his position on Thrive not duplexes. If he doesn’t think duplexes create enough housing then he could think that four-plexes do.
