If the perps were Muslims, then yes, DOJ would throw the book at them. There would be demands for a lynching.
But these were "nice white" people, so they will just get a slap on the wrist, if anything.
Isn’t one “nice white” lady going to jail? When I saw that, I had hope.

I’m a Dem and actually am astonished that Pence manned up and saved our country on Jan. 6 along with the Capitol Police.
Because he is an old fashioned mid-westerner and, for them, you do you job and serve your country because that is the expectation. Simple as that and, no, you don't ask for a reward for doing the right thing.
Its just like returning a wallet with $1,000 in it and then refusing an award and wanting to remain anonymous.
Refreshing, frankly.
This is performance art. Masterful troll.

No one knows for sure, but it seems to be connected to him figuring out that the committee had subpoenaed his communications carriers so they could cross check his production and privilege logs.
Thank you! So he was inclined to cooperate (maybe a deal?) then the Trump Russia threat? Then he realized that the committee is getting all these materials anyway from providers, so why help?
No, that’s not it. The committee is getting metadata from the carriers. That tells them who he communicated with and when. It doesn’t include the content. But it does allow the committee to see whether he is leaving stuff out. He was likely planning to leave out the worst of it, and then realized he would get caught.
