funny how this thread seems to cycle with the drama. Every. Single. Time. Must be a full moon again. That explains all of this craziness

Someone posted information about Barca participating in ODSL. Please explain how this is controversial, Pro Barca propaganda and otherwise drama?

If that singular post of simple information is being attacked as “more Barca drama” then you are overly invested.

+1. That just shows that there are ever vigilant Barça haters.

The other half remain in EDP.

Runs mid-August-end of -June. 4 week winter break from mid-December-mid-January. Summer break from July-mid-August.

There is rarely a cancelled practice. Evergreen clears the fields quickly. Snow removed promptly. Last year, there were almost no practices cancelled--barring lightning. The kids practice in the cold, rain, etc. If the wind chill is excessive or for extreme temps--they will re-arrange morning Internal games later in the day. There were a few cancelled practices for cold/snow this January when it was single digits/teens.

Our home club cancels much more frequently---even though they also practice on turf--at a HS field.

The roster sizes definitely got bigger in the older age groups. I agree that it is not great from development prospective as the same number of minutes would have to be shared among more players. Perhaps they are counting on players missing games because of high school soccer.

Yes on the older teams Barca asked everyone if they plan to play High school in the spring, the bigger rosters are to make sure teams can field full teams in league games, tournaments, showcases. The older teams play more games.

You make a very good point that a lot of clubs today ignore. More and more clubs are putting together large teams, sometimes well into the 20s. It's awful.

That said, I don't know that they turned it into one team with a big roster. It looks they generally will try to create more teams, depending on the age group.
