Yes. They ALL go to Oak Hill Elementary School.

Parts of Chantilly Highlands and Franklin Farm are right next door to one another. Like literally nextdoor neighbors.
From what I hear, most of the Franklin Farm group that are in Oak Hill boundary want to stay with their Oak Hill cohort.
Carson and Franklin are 1.5 miles apart. A small group lives across the road from Franklin and are walkers. So, the dilemma is whether to have Oak Hill be a split feeder or whether to let a small group split off and go to Franklin/Chantilly. Some of the kids that are "walkers" to Franklin are currently bused to Carson.

Most people I know in that area want to stay with Oak Hill friends.

I suspect the tweaking that was mentioned my Kyle is moving the Franklin MS Oak Hill kids to Carson and Skyview.

That's my expectation as well. Honestly it's an easy fix. Sceanrio 2 with all Oak Hill going to Carson and Skyview.

Many of your neighbors disagree. Also Franklin Farm east and west of the parkway are basically different neighborhoods unless your kids do swim team, and most kids don't.

Right, Franklin Farm HOA has always been split into East and West with Fairfax County Pkwy running north/south.

No, it’s not wrong. Remember—this is focusing on WESTERN Franklin Farm—Not Eastern, (east of Fairfax County Parkway.)
Franklin Farm Rd., between Centreville Rd. And Fairfax County Pkwy, goes through the middle of the western HOA. Scenario 2 isolates 281 homes in the HOA south of Franklin Farm Rd. (These homes back up against Lees Corner and Thompson Rd) and homes north of Franklin Farm Rd. Were paired with Chantilly Highlands, a separate HOA. There are HOA fences and tree lines that separate the two.

The scenario creates an attendance island for the southern side, and splits up kids going to the same pools, parks, teams, paths, etc.

Meren is never going to suggest people move from Madison or Langley because she knows those families will fight any move and she doesn't have the will to fight that. She abstained from the vote to purchase the school. She didn't have the guts to vote no, she just didn't vote. Her response to the entire Skyview process is to have meetings where she says she doesn't have the answers, even though many of the questions were asked had answers that where provided in the many meetings and zoom meetings surrounding Skyview. Or to post FB messages and videos that were just wrong. Now, at the last minute, she sent out an email to parents who contacted her saying that she thinks the rezoning needs to be slowed down.

Meren is never going to take a solid position on the subject because her doing so will upset someone in her region. Honestly, I would be more impressed if she had voted no and regularly questioned some of the choices that were being made regarding Skyview instead of the way she has handled the situation. At least show us the courage of your convictions and champion what you think is right. Instead she waits to the last minute and sends out a weak email to some people while ignorning the majority of voices on her various posts saying they are happy to move.

Sounds like you didn’t coordinate with your neighbors. Most of them are asking for your homes to be sent to Carson/Skyview so they can stay with Oak Hill ES friends, not for all of the weathern part of Franklin Farm to stay at Franklin/Chantilly.

If they see the feedback from that area split like this, they may very well keep it like it is in Scenario 1.
