I think on any given year, all 3 of these club teams pump kids into colleges.

However if you really look the numbers, the majority of kids who are making early verbal commitments, its mainly kids from the privates.

I highly doubt that the SSSA kids felt they had to play for Blackwolf. Truth be told, not every SSSA kid got to be on the Blackwolf team, which is very selective. In several instances, Blackwolf "cut" kids who were on the teams as freshmen because they did not continue to improve. The Blackwolf coach is up front in telling the kids and the parents that roster spots are reviewed every year. If your lax player is not committed to self-improvement and able to take tough coaching, then Blackwolf is not for you. If your player has the right combination of skill and attitude, then Blackwolf can help that player get noticed by colleges. The Blackwolf coach has an incredible rolodex of college coaches who count on his opinion in making decisions about whom they recruit.

No. That club continues to decline. They have tried for years to have a HS team, but they end of fielding teams of TWO grades (e.g. freshman and sophomores), which is not appealing to college recruiters who only want to see kids within a specific grade. NL is falling apart.

Moola is better on the club side. May have been best thing to happen to Madlax guy to get canned from a school because as it turns out school roles only create conflicts and distractions from the money maker events on the club side.

Now that we're into HS season, a few observations: lots more 9th graders on varsity squads last year and again this year especially at some prep schools where this used to be a big deal to do that in 9th grade. Are the players really better in 9th grade or are the coaches suffering a bit from "well this kid committed so I let's not start any wars putting him with JV"? Some of these kids are really good players it seems, but is this some greatest generation lacrosse or something else? Most of the MLL greats who came out of Baltimore were JV as freshmen. Also, I saw Landon play yesterday. Their best player is a junior who decided on a college as a junior? All I would say is wow, did the early recruiting guys miss a chance at a kid who rises up year to year and passes the kids who were the hyped up early commits from a year or two past.

I thought I heard that the Blackwolf coach who had been in the SSSAS staff wasn't working for SSSAS anymore, but I might have that wrong.

They are a very good club lacrosse program in the DC area.

Mad Lax and VLC are also very good club programs too.
