Where are the 2021s from Madlax, VLC and DC Express going next year? That could make a difference for the future prospects of certain high school teams.

Stone Ridge has several 8th grage girls who are very strong players - most are on Stars 2021 blue team. The SR 8th grade team beat the SSSAS 8th grade team this year for the first time ever. Although, to be honest, the three strongest 2021 girls at SSSAS played up on the SSSAS JV team this year. The outcome of the game between the two 8th grade teams would likely have been different if those 3 SSSAS girls had played.

Still, yes, SR has some very strong lacrosse players in the current 8th grade.

Trippi is a player that comes around once every other decade - he is that special and I expect to him start at UNC from day 1.

He was essentially shutout in the IAC final game against Landon and hence Bullis offense was anemic that day. Their offense has revolved around his playmaking ability for the past 3 years.

I'm sure Bullis will recruit in a few transfers like they did this year but they will be taking a step back in the post Trippi era.

Not so fast on Bullis. I hear that transfers will once again impact the program, but unlike other years, next year the transfers will be leaving the program.

Bullis will not be taking a step back next year, they return almost their entire team except for Trippi. Trippi will be impossible to replace but Bullis will be very strong next year.

While I agree with you that Landon should remain very strong next Spring, it will be extremely difficult for them to replicate the type of season they had this Spring. This Landon team could have easily have been the best HS lacrosse team to come out of the DC area ever. I suspect Landon will be the team to beat again next Spring.

I think Prep will be a little better as well as Saint Stephens. The Saint's were extremely young this year and all of their best players were underclassmen. I expect Bullis to drop with the departure of Trippi who was the quarterback of that offense for the past 3 seasons and hands down one of the best players to ever come out of the Bullis program. STA departs a big senior class so I expect them to drop as well. If I had to speculate, maybe Prep will challenge Landon next year for the IAC Banner.

As for the Catholic league, St. Johns should remain very strong. I think Gonzaga will be about the same as they were this year, a solid team, but no longer elite. They have been losing too many kids to GP the past three years and its going to show next Spring. Even SJC is starting to attract families who would could have ended up at Gonzaga. Bishop O'Connell will be a little better under the 2nd year of Coach Giblin, Paul VI loss a very talented senior class and will most likely drop next season. I expect the WCAC to turn into a two horse race moving forward between Gonzaga and SJC.

DMV HS LAX is looking really strong. Any anticipated moving around (hiring/firing) of coaches this summer?

By and large I think the rookie coaches did pretty well (Prep, SSSA, STA, St John's). Would be nice to see a few other schools follow that lead...

Looks like their program is on the rise.

Congratulations to Landon for winning IAC Cup (along with Prep). Lacrosse team had one of the best years ever for a team in DMV and might go down as best ever in region.

I believe G Prep has been done with school for quite some time now and thus exams were done with.

The best team in the country located less than 10 miles from the venue did not participate because exams are more important than one more meaningless lacrosse tournament.
