Such egregious cheating happens after men are numb to serial cheating on the road during business travel. He felt untouchable and didn’t care. And his wife accepts his apology and stays with him? Women have done this since the beginning of time. She probably no longer cares and no longer sleeps with him since he is a nasty cheat. Why should she be humiliated? She is not the dog: he is.

Because it's evidence that she does not have the social capital to cut him off. Of course it's humiliating. What's worse than being a dog? Being married to one and not having the means to escape.

My husband and I would lose entire weekends in bed in the early days. Blindkng hot attraction.
