Not accurate account of CDC director statement.
It's Virginia Law.
It's CDC recommendations.
It's over when people stop getting sick and hospitalized at high rates. No one can fully assure when that is of if and when there will be another variant. I'm in support of metrics for assess when or when not we should use different public health measures (e.g., I supported the decision in the summer when numbers were low that masks were not needed among vaccinated people and I support the decision now that they are--because the numbers of cases and hospitalizations are very high).
People don't get to choose whether or not to wear a seatbelt--it's the law because it protects them and protects society from the burden of having to provide them healthcare in accidents. Protective actions that slow transmission of contagious disease are even more understandable.

This has been the basis for federal courts upholding mask mandates in FL, TX, TN, etc. So Youngkin’s EO violates state and federal law.

It’s following state law, passed by the legislature and signed by Northam (SB 1303) and federal law regarding access to education for students with disability. Which Youngkin can’t just unilaterally revoke. I’d add— but you know that. But, you seem somewhat dim.

And if my child was so fragile that an unrestricted puff of air or a stray droplet were likely to kill them I would not risk their lives in public school. They would be home.

It's following Virginia law and CDC recommendations. The courts will decide which is correct--the executive order or Virginia law. Over a dozen VA counties are not following Youngkin's executive order.

Because decisions over education are granted to the local school boards in VA and Fairfax county people want to keep their kids in school and want masks. The order violates state law and constitution.

I agree. I've said before that local control is good by me, but saying that and in the same breath telling people they don't have to follow the decision made by a locally elected board is the part with which I have issue.
