Developing individual players is the primary goal of VYS last I checked. Parents whining their team 'sucks so bad' means kid sucks so bad as well. Maybe said kid would be better off of a less sucky black or white team. Or, is said parent living vicariously through their kid and insisting they play Phoenix?

Good parenting here. Maybe even parent of the year material. Things haven't gone our way so we're gonna quit and take our ball too. Great life lesson for your kid. Your kid is probably starting to hate soccer because she hears you constantly griping about it.

Hey, if you pay thousands into something you should be getting a positive ROI. Let me guess, you are in the school of thought that this is "fun" focused and results don't matter. Get a job and tell that to your employer.

ROI...for travel/youth soccer. Wow, just wow. Repeat that over and over in your head. Then tell your friends about ROI for youth/travel soccer. It's ok, they really are laughing at the situation, not at you. (Sure....)

ROI = player enjoys and is developing. Any parent that pays $$ should not expect anything less and I'll address this right up front, it's not and W/L.

+1 We are happy with our Phoenix team so far. I think the team will get better this year as they gel, too.

There is a ROI. That could simply be a fun and positive all around experience. It doesn't have to mean scholarships. We do pay thousands of dollars and if I don't think I'm getting my money's worth I'd be upset.

We won one, lost one. Not bad for a first weekend.

They're in a shit league. Instead of pulling your kid out, insist that she be on the Black team and play NCSL instead.

Love it! VPL sucks, NCSL sucks, CCL sucks....I care less about the league and more about the pathetic coaching. We have good players here and there...but as a unit they don't connect.

How is the coaching responsible for "choking"? Or is it because too many Vienna kids are spoiled rotten and feel entitled to a win once they've given what they consider to be enough effort?

Meh, a quick look at the weekend girls results would say that VYS had a competitive weekend except for one age group. Looks like the club went about .500 on the weekend across the board. For the younger ages especially you want evenly matched games and that is how the weekend played out.
