I am 24. I'll do this until it's not working for one of us anymore. I don't really feel like my life is on hold. I suppose my career is, but so many of my friends are in grad school or have boomeranged back to their parents that I don't really feel it.

You're 24? Oh sweetie. I have a 24 year old daughter. I would be heartbroken if I knew she was settling for this. You deserve so much more. Please consider talking with a therapist.

What you mean is that he hasn't told her, which means he's being a slimeball, and you are complicit.
Why would she "put out" if her husband is not treating her like his partner and his love?

Agree with the other poster, that the "exhaustion" is surely depression, which probably stems from trying to make a doomed marriage work. (Doomed because her husband isn't really in it, but won't man up to her.)
