Training a monkey to excel on an IQ test does not actually make the monkey any smarter. What's the point other than to show off that you can train a monkey to excel on an IQ test? There's no real benefit for the monkey.

If ones conscience is so clear, there is no need for all this arguing with people who have a different ethical standard.
No, it is a single poster with not enough grey and white matter to recognize parents can play education games with their children using the "exact form" of the test (subject matter topic and discipline). One does not need to buy the "test" to practice with.
My conscious is quite clear. I make no excuses for the fact I can train a monkey to excel in any K-12 or "IQ" test. This does not require buying books or course. If one is talented enough to train monkeys we need enough talented teachers and parents capable of training their children. The world and mankind will be better off.

My kids are all that matter to me.
Then it is unusual (hmm, maybe even quirky) to care so much about convincing others that it is okay to prep/scam the CogAT.
Uh.. nope, I don't care about that either. Maybe you are confused with others.
Parents know the best about their kids. Do what you think is the best for your kids.
No need to convince others either way.

I bought a WISC sample test, and let my DC go over it a couple of times.
(I think it was like $100? Took only a couple of days for review)
DC is thriving in AAP.
