While mines are the cause, the withdrawal of insurance is the actual mechanism that has paralyzed 90% of the shipping traffic.

Trump even said there are no mines in the strait. Do you really think any ship would go through the strait if mines had been laid? Do you think the US navy would send two $2.5 billion ships in to a minefield?

No other country is trying to open the Strait. The US caused this, and the rest of the world is waiting for us to fix it.
And our most recent action was to blockade the Strait, which is kind of the opposite to opening it.
