When did he say, "women don't belong in the military"? Please provide a citation.

The crazy thing is that every man who votes for him has to answer to his wife or daughter or niece. How are women not enraged by this?

Do you think women could have withstood the conditions and torture sessions of a Hanoi prison for 8 years like some of those poor guys endured?

Yes, absolutely. Women over the course of history have endured many horrific things.

The GOP is now a party-before-country rubber stamp for Trump. They used their one veto on Matt Gaetz, a nominee so unqualified and unpopular even the most die-hard MAGA could barely stomach him.

And no, a president doesn't automatically get the cabinet he or she wants. That's why the Senate has to act as a bulwark in the best interests of the country, to advise and consent.

“If Pete Hegseth were still in uniform, his extramarital affairs and a decision to flatly ignore a combat commander’s directive would not just be drawing the attention of senators — they could have run afoul of military law.”

There are many people who also served in combat but are way more qualified than Pete.

He’s going to gut the pentagon.

We just had two domestic terrorism attacks on US soil and for some crazy reason the Republicans are saying "all the more reason we need to get Pete Hegseth and Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel confirmed" - exactly the WRONG choices, because they want to dismantle the very institutions whose job it is to keep our country safe.

Should we hurry and get confirmations in place? Absolutely. But Hegseth, Gabbard and Patel are clearly the WRONG choices. Do better, GOP.

It is very questionable if he actually was in combat and his service record has not been given the scrutiny that is needed.

He never had any meaningful command in the service. He was just a guy who took orders and carried them out. Not a military leader in any meaningful way.

It won’t matter. A majority of the Senate will still confirm him.

I don’t think so.
