Because you see, Lindsay isn’t unique. Many, many murderers are indeed mentally ill, and we never support them. Men who murder can also suffer from severe debilitating mental illness to ya know? And guess what, we either kill them by lethal injection or imprison them for life.

Both things CAN exist. I don't think anyone is arguing that Andrea Yates did not commit an unthinkable crime (I hope not). She committed an unthinkable crime. She was unaware and psychotic. Same for this chick too. I'm not going to parade around saying "#iamlindsey" or whatever, because she committed an unthinkable crime and murdered her children whereas I did not, so, no, I am not the same as her. But I think she probably committed these murders while having a psychotic episode and was not aware of her actions, and this is precisely why we have "Not guilty by reason of insanity".

They can. But the issue comes in when people think she shouldn’t be held accountable for what she did because she was mentally ill.

Lindsay Clancy is no better than Dahmer, or Nikolas Cruz, or any school shooter for that matter, she’s no better than any mom in history who killed their kids. She is in the club now. After she chose to strangle her kids with exercise bands and other horrific acts, she became a murderer. This wasn’t self defense. We have standards and rules in society, she is no longer one of us.

I have been saying this from the beginning, was Jeffrey Dahmer mentally stable? Ted Bundy? What about most of the school shooters, were they all stable mentally? No, as a matter of fact many of them were also on psych meds, like Lindsay, but we crucified these young mentally ill kids. How about all the other potentially mentally ill mothers who killed their kids who are now serving life sentences in general pop prisons? What about them? We gotta stop with the #iamlindsay crap, no, no you are not. Like school shootings, we’re going to end up with copycat crimes thanks to the media coverage and the misplaced empathy. If we as a society have never related to, or empathized with murderers, even mentally ill ones, we aren’t going to start now. Hell no.
Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer who embalmed and disemboweled people and hid them in his freezer. He had a long history of asocial and frightening behavior. This woman was a highly esteemed labor nurse with no criminal record. Postpartum psychosis is real.
Doesn’t matter, that was then, this is now. Jeffrey Dahmer seemed normal at one time too, until he wasn’t.

By supporting Lindsay we are potentially opening a huge can of worms, mental illness doesn’t only affect Lindsay. God, if all the prisoners in this country had previous access to mental healthcare and diagnosis, I guess they’d be free, because I am sure a huge percentage of violent criminals have some mental illness. I am sure someone out there can empathize with Jeffrey Dahmer or school shooters but if you verbalized that support you’d be shunned, maybe even arrested. Oh but Lindsey, the baby killer x3, I can definitely relate to her, I could easily be a baby killer too. Get the f$&@ out!

But this didn't happen "in an instant." It was HOURS prior to the murders that she used google maps to see how far away the restaurant was, and also called CVS to verify they did not have the specific medication.
Wait, she called CVS to ascertain the medicine wasn't there, then told her husband to get it knowing he'd be delayed? The prosecution never said that.
