Clearly his family is colluding at least in his escape. It was stupid to trust them.
People who kill or raise females are given every possible benefit of the doubt. I am SO over it!
He left his parents place (supposedly) on September 1st. They kept stalling her parents until they filed a missing persons report on September 11th.
The police couldn't 'watch' him if they didn't know a crime had been committed.
Lastly had the parents trusted their guts and filed earlier - they might have located and detained him on the 3rd or 4th before he disappeared or crossed the border.

Soon enough we'll be on to BL's dad - poor guy. His stupid wife must've made him help his son cover up a murder, right internet?

Anonymous wrote:For those defending the police officers. They are not very observant if they did not notice that Brian established himself as a liar when he said he did not have a cell phone but Gabby did, which was in the van, and then shortly afterwards pulled his cell phone out of his back pocket.

Wouldn't be surprised if the parents (and other family members) have been regularly withdrawing cash from their accounts and conveniently left wads of it laying around the house for Brian to pick up. That, plus a passport, probably means he is long gone probably to a place with difficult extradition back to US. Parents could deny they purposefully gave him money to help with his escape.
He tells them he's going for a walk in the swamp, with a backpack filled with cash & passport, and that's what they report.
He's too big of chicken to go to a country without extradition. We are talking places like Russia, China, Afghanistan, etc. He's not prepped for that.
He could easily do Brazil. His parents could have easily done a home equity loan in a day and cashed it all out. Now that the parents have been taken in, I'd bet it is for questioning about assisting him in some form or fashion.

While they were very friendly and attempted to stay fair to both sides - the fact that they put up Brian in a hotel room while allowing Gabby to leave alone, uncomfortably driving the van to an unknown destination is outrageous.
I get that the officer stressed in the video that they, the authorities could not treat either party differently due to gender but c’mon…..gender definitely matters when sending a Female off alone in a van to fend for herself while driving a Male to a hotel and assuring he arrives safe and will be taken care of.
A girl has a much better chance at possibly attracting predators vs. a guy.
So yes gender matters in this case.
She deserved a hotel room while Brian should have had the option to just take the van.
Bad judgement of the officers IMO.
Also labeling her the “Aggressor” and him the “Victim” was preposterous at best.
Even then w/out the knowledge we have now.
Anyone speaking to them could see that she was continuously crying while he was chatting cheerfully w/the cops.
It was apparent that she was scared while to him, none of what was happening was even a big deal.
We have been over this SO. MANY. TIMES. She admitted to slapping/scratching him, so technically she was the abuser in the situation. They're not legally allowed to put the abuser up in a hotel room.
