So if they don't, they don't. Sorry but they ARE illegal and they've gotten to live here their whole lives, if they have to sweat it out to March then that's a small price to pay for life in America, free k-12 education, work authorizations etc. We know they're not going anywhere so if it takes until the last day so what.

Hmm I wouldnt be so sure. I don’t think we should reward breaking laws and lots of republicans in congress agree with me.

Maybe maybe not. But holding Americans hostage over it Is stupid.

Cool story. Do you need someone to call you a hostage rescue team?

OMG yes. Just check the number of threads here re the “best” districts and how north Arlington is the place to be bc you simply can’t send your kids to school in south Arlington or heaven forbid Falls Church. But now omg illegals are OUR kids and we have to be fair. GTFO. At least republicans are honest - work something out for the 800k if you can without too much trouble - and IMO even that shouldnt be full citizenship - and to their parents and the other 3.6m illegals, you’ve benefited enough so if those benefits stop, whatever . . . .

Not this liberal. I grew up with them. Ended up marrying a Hispanic immigrant and had kids. You all fear what you don’t know. Bigots!

Good for you? But read DCUM generally -- it's always about the "best" districts and ones that aren't too ESOL heavy because it takes away from their precious gifted child and the particular instruction he'd receive in a "better" school. But yet they are sooooo liberal, and anyone who is honest is a republican racist.

Eh you also have a lot of posters countering that ESOL/FARMS doesn’t make a school bad. I’m a liberal in Silver Spring and our schools have plenty of both.

Why should the Dems give in? Did you Rs say the same about the Tea Partiers who held out causing the last shut down?

Seem to be a number of deplorables who gave suddenly decided that they’re liberal Democrats and that the party is headed in the wrong direction. Hilarious.

I kind of agree, but am tired of the he Dems being the only ones who have to give in while the are dig in and refuse to budge. Do you think the Dems should give in on CHIP too?

You agree on the basic issue but are tired of giving in or in other words losing. The way to start winning is for the.democratic party to head.back to the center not further to the left than it already is. Your party needs to be where Joe manchin is not Bernie Sanders.

The democrats seem to have written off huge swaths of the country but that's where the Senate votes and electoral college vote are.

Feel good marches in pink hats and social media tantrums and calling over half of the country racists May give the left a nice warm feeling in it's collective nappy but doesn't win the.votes you need.

Thanks. But no thanks.

The lefts use of manufactured hysteria to bully the electorate into unwise policy decisions is pretty much over with. Even the main stream media isn't really buying this as anything other than a desperate move by
a very weak and rudderless democrat party.

Have always voted Dem in the past, but here's hoping you're right. And I hope people let it sink in that they chose ILLEGALS over US citizens.

Results in VA, Alabama, and looking like possibly Wisconsin, do not support your theory.

The budget fully funds CHIP for 6 years. Am I wrong about that?

The vote isn't over the budget. McConnell is 5 months behind on a budget.
