Middle of the road kid. Undecided liberal arts major. Cost not an issue - all pretty equal.

I have a sophomore at Denison and another heading there in the fall, so my pick would be Denison. However, if you are in the DC area, Dickinson is easier/cheaper to get back and forth if that is a factor in your decision-making. I can list all the reasons why my kids chose Denison, but I don't want to hijack the thread.

Any first hand experience with this school? Would this be a good fit for an out-doorsy introvert kid, who does not mind cold weather?

We drove through Eugene on the way to Crater Lake NP - love the area. Cant go wrong with a U Oregon/Eugene/CS Major. Good luck!!

Georgetown SFS is the most impressive. But it's a niche.

Eugene is warmer than DC in the winter, just gray and rainy AF. Go Ducks!

Someone needs to make a decision. Do they want to study international relations or do they want to go away? Because there's no comparison between Georgetown SFS and the other schools for that major.

Still deciding and hoping that someone has a little pearl of wisdom to share?

Cost is approximately the same for all

Macalester
Pitt
Oberlin
Wisconsin

Are you serious? Wisco and it isn't close.

Macalester would be a great choice

San Diego or Santa Clara or occidental. It’s fun to be on the west coast and what better time to do it than college.

Why would you pick UMD over Michigan when Michigan has the best reputation of any schools on PP’s list?

Interested in stats for Michigan!

Guess it depends on which major in this case.

Macalester!

Sorry I should’ve explained why…it’s because I live in and love the twin cities and think it would be a good place to go to college. Madison would be great too if your kid prefers a bigger school. I personally prefer smaller so I’d pick macalester. Don’t really know Pitt or Oberlin so can’t comment on those.

Oh also Macalester has a strong Jewish organization if your kid is interested. I think the school is 6-7% Jewish which is pretty large for a SLAC.

But every other school on PP’s list has a higher percentage of Jewish students:
Oberlin 23% Jewish
Wisconsin 11% Jewish
Pitt 8.5% Jewish

What about Grinnell?

Grinnell 9.2% Jewish but wasn’t on PP’s list
