She isn’t beautiful anymore. When she smiles, these huge creases form. They are probably due to the work she’s had done to her face.

She was pretty in 2005.

She looked beautiful and the gown was custom. It was daring (for American fashion tbh, Americans are less daring, esp first ladies) and unusual for an inaugural gown. It’s hard to pull off a choker and Melania did. She trended less colonial and more continental today, and it’s disconcerting to some of the hayseeds.

Ivanka followed suit. They both looked fantastic.

Love ivanka’s gown. Beautiful choice.
I guess Melania’s gown is growing on me. It’s not a “wow I’m jealous” dress for me, but it is fine and looks good on her. She’s definitely lost weight in the last year or so. I hope she didn’t feel compelled to do so since coming back to the WH. I was actually happy for her that she seemed to be letting herself settle into middle aged caftans down in Florida.

I thought Melanie's dress was great and Usha's looked like she was a bridesmaid in a fancy wedding. Vanky's looked good for her.

Why is Vanky doing these modeling poses?

I think she looks great and I love the drama of the gown and choker. I agree that there’s a little daring and sophistication to Melania’s look. I can’t help but like it.

I agree - I think that dress is really good.

Came here this morning and had hoped for more pics. Hate to admit I liked Ivanka’s look, a rare hit for her. Yes it is channeling Grace Kelly but less in a cosplay style than before. She is no Grace Kelly but I still like it.

Melania’s, the first thought was it is too similar to her previous inaugural gown for me and would have rather seen something less similar to last time. The fit seems good at least and I am not a fan of chokers. Hard not to see an arrow or think of Trump’s weather Sharpie but maybe that is partly because I am looking at just another white column for her again.

.

I know. She looks amazing. A daring pick. She could wear a potato sack though and rock it with her bod. Don’t LOVE the dress, but LOVE how she looks.

The neck ribbon reminds me of a creepy children’s story where a woman says not to remove her neck ribbon. The child finally does remove the ribbon from the woman’s neck, and the woman’s head falls off and rolls away.

That wasn’t nice! Shame on you.

Ivanka knocked it out of the park.

(Her earlier green outfit though…. Totally cosplaying Kate Middleton. I think wearing her camel coat inside was also following Kate Middleton’s penchant for coat dresses).

Ivanka’s daughter was adorable and age appropriate in the camel wool outfit. Very cute

Jill looks very cheap, especially with that bedazzled purse.

She always looks cheap. It’s not my cup of tea. I’m more a Carolyn Bessette Kennedy minimalism type. I don’t mind color. It’s just that Jill’s color like bright royal plus and purple instead of plum always look chintzy and cheap…particularly with the brittle blonde hair and bad hairstyle.

That is not the look you can achieve in your 60s.

Carolyn B’s “style” was just being skinny + pretty privilege.

Most women (including Jill) do not have the physique or bone structure to achieve it.

Meh. She is a beautiful woman and her hair looks great here, but the dress is weird with that black zig zag which seems pointless and haphazard, and the choker is just bad. I can think of a lot of ways to fix this, it's not totally terrible, but as with her outfit for the swearing in, it's unnecessarily weird in a way that makes no sense.

Do you think she enjoys just making people go "wut" with her clothes? I guess she has to find a way to entertain herself and that's fairly innocuous.

Except for the choker, I think it's very nice. I don't love it and I think more effort could have been made for a memorable Inaugural dress, but she looks good. Really good for her age. She hasn't completely gone to town on her face with plastic surgery.

Oh I disagree, that dress was memorable.
