Unless the people who're leaving are some of the holdouts, it eats into McCarthy's margins, making it even less likely that he'll "win".
We need 6 to leave, and then we'll have a Democratic leader of a Republican congress.
No, to shift the majority to 212, 12 members have to be absent or present.
I thought it was 13. Anyway, more than the number of absentee Republicans. I think there are 4 that have indicated that they won't be there due to prior commitments.
