The job is still vacant. They just got a sub from Central Office.

As a parent I’m not okay with that. They should have to finish out the year. They shouldn’t plan on giving children
Multiple teachers in a year. If it happens due to pregnancy or medical leave that understandable and unforeseen/ part of life. but teachers
are held to a contract for an entire school year for a reason and FCPS should hold upper level staff to completing a year to help with consistency for kids. They can keep their title and pay but our kids before hierarchy for once FCPS.

Is there any data on how many resident teachers were hired out of that fair last week? I also wonder what FCPS will do to retain people this year so they are not in the same position next year??

Spots filled in the last week are resident teachers - recent college grads have been recruited heavily (including my own).

I don’t believe this at all. The job postings are taken down and no one can apply to them. Either 1) they were filled by applicants or 2) staff was permanently reassigned.

There is no way FCPS is jeopardizing their hiring by taking down postings that still need to be filled.

Yes. I have a friend who is getting pulled from Willow Oaks to go to an ES. I don’t know if she has ever taught all subjects.

And also potentially at risk of physical harm. My mom was an IA for many years until a 1st grader threw a chair at her and her knee swelled up to the size of a grapefruit. At that point, the money wasn’t worth the risk. She retired at the end of that school year.
