a whole club folding kinda makes parents “chase” the next opportunity. As far as cuts. Only one ecnl club truly cuts players. To that age groups benefit it has worked(so far) and those players have happily found homes at GA and are still playing at a high level. Anything that happens during/after tryouts will be parents making not so tough choices vs waiting around for a club to make side deals. Cant get cut if you were planning on leaving and had options. By that logic FVU had cuts. But poke on on an anonymous message board on ur holiday if u wish. Its entertaining. GA is rising anyway!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:FVU has brought in some promising new players, but it seems that internal dynamics and parental involvement may be affecting how they’re being utilized. Shocker. DB is not a good coach and plays favorites while CW was successful only when there were two elite options in the area. Neither are good at promoting team chemistry and neither are good communicators. CW is respected due to age and longevity but nobody respects DB. Everyone knows the "promising new players" from NVA and VDA are just chasing the ECNL badge.
on the topic of badge chasing, does anyone know where all the ecnl cuts from last season ended up?? did most go to syc/revolution or are they all on fvu?
im sure all teams have buddy systems. Will they work out? Ga or EeekcnlAnonymous wrote:not sure. FVU doesn’t have carpool and buddy options. chasing ecnl badges…. Went to NVA to prove he could do it on his own. Now back at Union with Uncle CW.
Also do coaches need A/B/C if they Coach GA.
Are the requirements different from ecnl and ga?
In GA Directors must have B with a documented plan to get A within 18 months and coaches must have C with a documented plan to get B within 18 months.
So Danny Boy couldn’t coach in GA anyway.have a hunch they are going GA
If they do, sounds like "D"B wont be able to coach in that league
Azzuri is a good team. They would beat plenty of GA and ECNL teams. Especially the teams near the bottom of their respective conferences.
Slow down. They would not beat “plenty” of local ECNL teams. They beat FVU, That’s the only one they could realistically beat.
Good lesson for ECNL hats. It is not about the badge, it about the team and coach.
Ducked wags
absolutely not. But not for lack of talent. Different coach who plays aggressive vs to keep a lead or tie. LO might have dropped winger to help on D in the close games. Regardless same personnel this year… probably same results. Or worse.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:if we still had those players it would be the same results as last year. Show me where I said local, I’ll wait. Across the GA and ECNL landscape, Azzuri would beat a lot of those bottom level teams.
Soooo you’re saying they could beat a terrible ecnl team somewhere in the US. But just not around where they play. Got it.
Number 1: As you know in tournaments like Wags, Jeff Cup, etc… you play teams from all over the US. I’m simply stating that Azzuri would beat a lot of those bottom level ECNL and Ga teams, so it’s not a huge shock that they beat FVU. You’re stuck on ECnL I see. Climb out your ECNL feelings and know that I’m not picking on that league. I also mentioned GA. number 2: If I’m not mistaken you guys had FVU ranked high in the DC Urban mom power rankings that include ECNL and GA teams. Azzuri just knocked the #3 seed off so at the minimum Azzuri would at least compete with 4-10 on that list. Right?
FVU lost key players to other teams. Not sure why they were ranked high for the year. Also they are not even close to the #3 seed in MA. They are #8.
That’s entirely the point. They lost those players and now they are worse than last year. It’s not rocket science. Nowhere was it said they went to carry another team. But they probably help.
Will bump this post down the road. Carry on
You guys tied Wilmington and lost to Azzurri… are you trying to say you are better this year?

hmmm so there was some negative energy last season? I thought it was all roses at FVU last season. Or are ex teammates talking spicy on socials etc?!Anonymous wrote:Speaking of FVU. Humility is a treasure. When you have average players who look down on their peers, you have to be ready for the consequences. Because when you fall, everyone will laugh at you unfortunately. So the lesson is, if you want to look down on your peers, you better be really really good.
fvu signed up for wags in every age group. My assumption is that them being the only ecnl club entering may have contributed to the cup entries. I mean ECNL is supposed to be the bar.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:check the wags. u might be right.
