Yes. Is she a mom? Yes. Does Christmas look different now that she’s not married? Also, yes. But given her resources, the age of her children, her community, her flexible job, a mom who comes over to wrap her children’s’ presents (?!?!?!)… I think there are lots of single moms with small children and limited income and no support system that may find it hard to sympathize with her. From all appearances – she and her ex bought a car for their daughter when she turned 16 – she’s also got a fairly healthy coparenting relationship with him. It’s just gross to me that she makes herself into such a victim when there are women with abusive and toxic exes, staggering debt from custody battles with those exes, hourly wage jobs with no time off because they’ve used it all at court or staying home with sick kids, and she’s over here crying about planning her family’s ski trip.
SHUT ALL THE WAY UP JEN! "She has no clue what the average single mom goes through at Christmas time just seriously shut up- you are not relatable". Well said

“I’ve lived in Texas for so long, how have I never made tamales”
Probably because you are only now trying to feature people of color and performative do-gooderism. She is so transparent!

I love that this is at the top of this page because so funny

And then comes out with a 2010 Jen Christian post about Advent complete with Bible verse. #1, how do any of her Christian followers take her seriously, and #2, how do none of them see the hypocrisy?
To the degree she has any "Christian" fans left, they're probably hipster, progressive, social justice Christian types. I was in a church full of women like this who were all Jen fans back in the day. I don't know if they still are, but the whole cool Christianity thing still seems to have a broad appeal for many women of a certain demographic.
