Lol. You may be the most self-important poster on this forum, and that’s saying a lot.

Bullies are usually the most damaged ones in a group of children and have poor life outcomes no matter where they go to college. Picking on other kids is usually a cry for help, and if it’s ignored, the kid ends up socially isolated. I felt and feel bad for the kid who bullied my daughter. So did my daughter and her friends, but they don’t go near her because it always backfires. Wishing pain on any kid, even the kid of a truly terrible mother like me, is not very nice, yes, but it’s also pretty childish and stupid. You don’t agree with me okay, but engage with the substance of the argument or don’t — which is that a lot of Ivy League offer from these places go to kids who are prodigies or connected or have some sort of insane talent (state champion athlete), so it’s hard to know how much of a boost the school’s name gives to an application. If your kid isn’t a prodigy or well-connected (which a fair amount of kids are one or the other, if not both at these places), it’s not a comparison that makes tons of sense for someone who is not, and using it as a metric for the quality of education at a place vs how kids do on ERBs from year to year or how the kids do at those schools once they are admitted is kind of a waste of time.

the vast majority of girls at the school do very well. and to continue to mock them is childish.

maybe your personality rubbed off on your daughter and that's why she got bullied?

The valedictorian of my high school the year before I graduated got into Princeton. I didn’t — it was her accomplishment (she was brilliant). If your kid is the grandchild of one of the founders of the most famous magazine in America, mazel, or a musical prodigy, why are you skulking around on this board? You’re good.

B hater! So tedious.

She needs mental help

why are you just focusing on HYP? you understand there are plenty of other great schools. 85% of the girls are going to great schools.

Look, we all feel for you that your daughter was bullied at Brearley. But that doesn't give you liberty to continue to bad mouth the school.
There was one (or a couple) of girls in one class that tormented your daughter into leaving. it's not right but your experience is not typical.

it appears you are happy with where you daughter ended up so, all well that ends well i guess is the saying.

I would prefer Yale to be stuffed with musical prodigies and the kid who can cure cancer rather my own because I’d like a cure for cancer. If my kids are good enough, great, go, work hard, compete. This game of “I can get my non-extraordinary not that academically oriented kid into Harvard if I force them into accelerated programs, red shirt them and tutor the shit out of them to get them through a school” hurts the kids and hurts the school who chase admission trends rather than focus on providing a solid education and hiring great faculty. The worst part is that a bunch of people are destroying their kids chasing something they probably aren’t going to land even if they are at one of these schools, and for what? The superstars are superstars, no school is going to turn your kid into a prodigy or a future Elon Musk. It might provide them with the academic background, work ethic and character they need to succeed no matter who they are with the talent they actually have if the focus is on the academic program rather than the lottery of Ivy League admissions.

You're back? Lame. Stop trying to discredit smart, hardworking kids. It's a really terrible look.

43/58 elite schools,
7 or 8 t30 school
around 7 "so so" schools, which are all still pretty good.

hard to imagine any other NYC or national day school being better than Brearley.
