My dad taught me drive in the parking lot of the Pentagon on weekends. Lots of kids learned to drive there.

I came here after college 30+ years ago. Lived in both Virginia and Maryland. I know all these places. Raised my kids in MoCo but wish I had stayed in Arlington.

FCPS HS allowed students to smoke in designated smoking lounges thru 1984

FCPS teachers smoked indoors in teacher lounges thru 1988

Mel Krupin’s. I really, really miss that place. I miss Posin’s too, but that’s really another, distant, era. I guess Parkway Deli might be as close as I can get for a nostalgia fix.

Being able to take a tour of the WH by just getting in line outside and waiting for your turn to go in. No special tickets needed. No screening, background checks, etc.
