There are fewer tools for Trump to bail them out this time. The fund he used last time to give them something like $28 billion has a lot less slack this time around. And the tariff damage is worse. Yep. All the farmland right here in the DMV is gone. I had not been down R301 in Maryland in years. There used to be lots of farms and one farm where I took DC for Halloween haystacks and rides. It’s all gone and now shopping centers, town houses, and SFH.


That works for the very small numbers who own land near urban centers. But no one is going to pay millions for land in the middle of Iowa or Nebraska where most farmland is located.

Frankly he hates his rural low-wealth voters. He is surely happy now he has enough power that he can tell them bluntly that he has always despised them and looks forward to them begging at the white house gates. maybe he'll throw them some scraps from his table to keep them alive longer, so he can enjoy watching them grovel longer.
