Walz is seen as open border, sanctuary city far left radical.

Democrats can explode with happiness and joy that Walz “looks normal” and pretend his folksy shtick will play with SEC fans. Hint: It won’t. People will see the things Walz has done in MN and run away from him.
I’m the PP. Mark Kelly could have made a connection with this demographic. Walz, no way (the super libs will love him, but not the moderates/independents).
I'm an independent and like him. I didn't know anything about him until today. He seems like a genuine person, with experience and some positions I agree with. Do I agree with him 100%? No. I think the Trump/Vance ticket is pure toxic waste. I'd have been fine with any of the VP finalists. Trump should have picked Haley but his ego got in the way.

He left the onions out because he knows that you’re allergic
Typical liberal.

I think Walz will be relatable. He's someone you want to have over for dinner. Will I agree with all of his positions? No. But I also know he cares and is trying to do the right thing and is really trying to make people's lives better. I would never say that about Trump or Vance.
He’s a socialist. He plays folksy while gutting anyone who disagrees with him.

Sorry but conforming to the peaceful transfer of power of thing is required of a president.
Come on, that sentiment can be captured in lots of better ways than "weird"

Anonymous wrote:I think kamala pissed off a lot of Jewish people and Pennsylvanians by pretending to consider shapiro when we all knew she wouldn’t dare run with a Jew due to the ongoing war in gaza. She tried to score political points with PA and Jewish people and that backfired majorly when she didn’t select him - despite having a 60% approval rating in a must win state - precisely bc he’s Jewish.
And I’m disgusted by the party’s fringe reaction to her potentially selecting a Jew- looking at you, the Cynthia Nixons and the Rashida tlaibs of the party. Crying on social media that it would be a death sentence for the party to nominate Shapiro, who has called Netanyahu Israel’s worst leader of all time and is probably less pro Israel than walz - IS antisemitic. Kamala gave into a disgusting part of the dem fringe by forgoing Shapiro. I have no issues with walz, but in my opinion he’s not an asset to the campaign, sort of how Hilary picked Tim Kaine who wouldn’t overshadow her.
If Trump wasn’t the Republican nominee I’m not sure I’d vote for Kamala after this.

The left has been negging Trump for his weight but think Walz is charming.

The GOP voted for George W Bush and this issue wasn't problematic. Walz's charges were reduced to reckless driving. Walz was fined $200 plus court costs, which include the costs of the police alcohol test. He no longer drinks alcohol so apparently learned from this incident.
IMO - worse than the drunk driving charge is him trying to claim to be deaf to get out of it.
Whatever. He was 31 and this happened in 1995, almost 30 years ago. Has it happened since? Recently? Is there a pattern of this behavior? He doesn't even drink now. There's no record he said anything about poor hearing to the cop at the time of the incident, BTW. I assume that was some spin given during an election campaign. I agree it sounds like he was drunk driving and he's damn lucky he didn't cause an accident. But it also sounds like it was a one time thing, and MANY MANY politicians have much worse substance abuse issues than that; he's apologized and learned from it, and drinks no more.
Meanwhile, Trump's payoff hush money? No that wasn't potentially life threatening to anyone. But it was hugely more relevant because it was part of a pattern of contempt for the law, it was in 2016 RIGHT before the election! And also he was 70 at the time, not 31. Did Trump apologize? Say he was wrong for doing it?
