This has all been public. Some people say she's lying and going the mental he as both route so she can't be criticized. Some people believe her.
I believe her stress but I'm kind of over it and tired of Harry's whining.

Sure it has been public but I am just wondering what people think of it. I know she can be criticized for other things, sure, but I just think it's really odd that people can see British tabloids attacking her relentlessly for her race, for years, and then say she is making up the mental health issues. And then say that Harry should't have complained about the press so much? I don't understand that reaction. We don't have proof of Meghan's mental state but we do have proof of how terrible the tabloids were, and we have proof that Diana died because of how tabloids acted.

She was not attacked relentlessly for her race. She was attacked because she was perceived as someone who didn't care to learn about the rules and traditions of a very old, very conservative institution she entered voluntarily, and for whining when things didn't go her way.

Dig you head out of your own ass and read the multitude of articles saying negative comments about her race or referring to her race in a derogatory way. You just make yourself look really stupid.

Bonus points though for calling the person with suicidal thoughts a liar. That's exactly what they tell you to say to them.

I don't believe she was having suicidal thoughts, and I don't believe "most" criticism of Meghan had to do with race.

+1. A lot of Meghan's perceived "slights" towards her and her children were not slights at all but standard, pre-established protocol that has been around longer than she has been alive. She did understand, nor care to understand this, and instead decided it was directed AT HER, when it wasn't. Harry did her no favors by agreeing with her rather than explaining how titles/security/order of prededence works. Catherine was always going to be seated ahead of her by official Order of Precedence, and the same is true of Catherine's children. This has nothing to do with race, but simple birth order.

+2. The press was awful to Camilla and Kate for years too. It’s not like Meghan is special in this regard.

Bulk goes to the heir. But she’ll probably have her will sealed for 100 years like Philipp did.

This. Most of the monarch’s wealth comes from the Duchy of Lancaster, which is now under Charles. And yes the details will not be released.

This is incorrect. There is monarchy’s/crown wealth and personal wealth. She has made a fortune just by breeding horses, that was just one of her side gigs. Andrew and her other kids will be well taken care of without needing to rely on Charles. That’s why Harry is hanging around too.

I didn’t say all, I said bulk and that is 100% true. The others will get peanuts in comparison to Charles. Not saying they will be destitute. The adult kids will be fine for their remaining days - they are already 70’s and 60’s. The grandkids (apart from William) will get something, but not enough to set then up for life with no need for additional income.

Genuinely curious how you are privy to Queen Elizabeth’s will and know what her heirs will receive.

That’s why Anne’s kids have always worked. And Edward and Sophie have said they are raising their children with the expectation that they will need to work. Or marry well.

Anne was intelligent enough to give her kids the freedom to do what they chose with their lives. Everyone has to work, 73 year old King Charles has been flying around the country and attending engagements non stop for the past 4 days with little time to mourn his parent. That’s brutal.

That's not really working. And if you really think about it, the royals don't really work. And then there is wills and Kate who hardly do anything at all. Esp Kate.

No. That really is work on behalf of the United Kingdom

More than intelligence, Anne has the character, grace and work ethic of her mother. She is the one who will fill the Queen’s role as the heart of Britain as she quietly goes about her extensive duties with no complaint or fanfare. She was the first woman to stand at the Prince’s Vigil for her mother and accorded the Queen a deep curtsey as her body arrived in Edinburgh’s cathedral

Look for Anne to take a larger tile in support if Charles with her legendary competence and humility.

The Sussexes can return to their American celebrity while the true riyals soldier on.

Oh, come on. People like to tout Anne as "the hardest-working royal," but she isn't really working. She's keeping busy. She may deserve the title of "busiest royal" (I don't follow the royals enough to know the schedules), but appearing at ribbon-cuttings isn't work in the sense that she produces anything of value.

But that IS the job. And if her presence produces more interest or funding to charitable causes, then yes, it is work.

I mean do you think appearing on discussion panel is work? What about giving interviews? Delivering keynote speeches? That's not really "work"? That's the entire job description.
Although in the case of Anne, she may have to rethink her rule of not courting the media.

People on panels don't get chosen to appear because they are professional panelists. They don't get interviewed because they're professional interviewees. They aren't giving speeches because they're someone good at giving speeches in a vacuum. They get those opportunities (some paid, some not) because of something else they do or have done.

Does her presence bring more interest or funding to a cause? Meghan worked with some organization to produce a clothing line, and I get how that would produce money, but the vague sense that the vague magic of a royal hovering in the midst seems like a much harder thing to prove, and it would be even harder to prove that whatever those appearances produce offsets the expense of having a royal family

Interesting. So you think Queen Maxima gets invited to international gatherings because of her vast experience with the subject matter?

I'm American, so I am sure they DGAF. But at the point that you have to describe attending ribbon-cuttings as "a job," you've pretty much made it clear that the royals are a waste of resources. Older Britons may not be ready to give up the monarchy, but when Charles pops his clogs? Or William? Buh-bye.

I'm sure that's what you said before Queen Elizabeth died. So many on here were just so sure King Charles was never going to happen. Face it, you don't understand how any of this works or what the British people want. They don't care what you want as an American, either.

It goes to Charles only on a technicality, as succeeding monarch he does not have to pay any estate tax on it. I am sure there are private arrangements where Charles was asked to set up trust and provide generous disbursements to his siblings and nieces/nephews.

Sorry to disappoint you but no that’s not how it works in societies that observe primogeniture, like aristocratic UK.

You don’t understand the British RF, they take of their own, no matter what. They even took care of Wallis Simpson after the death of her husband.

I never said they didn't. I said the BULK OF THE WEALTH WILL GO TO CHARLES. You said that is "incorrect" and its not.

They are as much a waste as diplomats are a waste. Yes, to many, representative jobs seem pointless but they serve a valuable role. The Brits prefer a monarch to a president, and I don’t personally disagree with them.

p.s.

The role of president in most parliamentary democracies is different than the US, it’s similar to the duties the Royals perform.

I’m American and I also would not pay someone to do this job. But if someone is willing to pay for it and derives some benefit from it—which apparently the Brits do, as they are not refusing to pay—then it’s a job. I mean, there are people who paint their toe nails on only fans because there are people willing to pay for it. The entire karxashian empire is built on people paying for things that I think are dumb. But that seems to be what makes the world go round. There’s the famous Roman quote about bread and circuses for the masses. These are the circuses and people apparently want them. Will they want them by the time George is old enough? Who knows. Maybe he’ll end up selling his company and presence like his shiftless great-great-great uncle or like the Russian princes did.

That is their entire job. None of the royals are sitting on the bench curing cancer. They don’t care if it displease you.

I'm American, so I am sure they DGAF. But at the point that you have to describe attending ribbon-cuttings as "a job," you've pretty much made it clear that the royals are a waste of resources. Older Britons may not be ready to give up the monarchy, but when Charles pops his clogs? Or William? Buh-bye.

That’s a decision for the British to make, not something you’ll be a part of.
