McMonnell needs to do his job and pass the BIPARTISAN house bill.
Trump won’t sign it. Not clear as to whether you’re aware of that part.
It would be mighty embarrassing for Congress to override the president about this. Wouldn't it?

I think meadows said something similar. This shutdown has the tea party’s sticky fingers all over it. McConnell better step up or they will keep doing this

Trump doesn't want to negotiate, Pelosi was explaining to him how ti works and how to start a compromise and he goes on and on about needing more votes from democrats and since he doesn't' have them why waste time on proposals? Bigger question is how do you open the government when the President is sabotaging it and the country? It sure seems like he wanted to close it and didn't even look for an excuse.

Even in the CBS poll Americans blame Trump(who begged and said he would be proud to own the shutdown) at 47% and rightly so, because Americans took the conman at his word. Dems are blamed only 30%.

Per the Axios article (previously cited), the WH has no strategy or endgame but is going to try inviting newly elected Democrats to the WH to woo them, hoping that they'll abandon Pelosi but not expecting it.
