You really regret the spelling of "Lela" because it is frequently mispronounced. You live in Columbia Heights and you had been really counting on the lottery to come through for you, but Lela didn't get it anywhere good for PS-3 and now you are freaking out. You had a dream of raising city kids but it is so hard on your part-time income as graphic designer and your DH's non-profit salary. You absolutely refuse to move to the suburbs and you aren't quite sure where Ashburn is located. You don't even like to fly out of Dulles!
You met your DH when you were living in a group house. He was actually your house-mate's date but you felt this amazing chemistry and the rest is history. She didn't come to your wedding. You had a bi-sexual phase in college and sometimes you see a hot woman on the street and think hmmm. You were a philosophy major at a very expensive private college (luckily your parents picked up the tab!) and your DH was raised abroad by diplomats. He did two years in the Peace Corps. You love him but sometimes wish you had married someone with the potential to earn more.
Yea! This was amazing, though not a single thing is true. In fact, most is the polar opposite of our family. But such creativity! BTW, "Lela" is spelled phonetically and is a name from my DH's heritage)

Your family is an interesting mix of race and cultures. You wanted names for your girls that would honor this while also being unique and feminine. Lela is a natural leader and competitive in everything she tries, while Sasha is more reserved and gentle. You and your husband adore your daughters, but you sometimes disagree on how to parent them. You tend to baby them, while your husband has very high expectations. You enjoy living an urban life and being surrounded by a variety of people, but you have recently been considering a move to the suburbs. Your husband is resistant to this and worries that your family will have a difficult time finding friends or like minded families. He likes being able to walk down the street for Ethiopian or Thai and watching the girls play at the park with kids of all colors. You are tired of living in an apartment and want to have a yard, even if it is a small yard for the girls and perhaps a future dog. Growing up in the South, you miss having a place to really call "home" and feel the urge to be more settled. You bicker about money and spending decisions. You want your girls to grow up to be confident, compassionate women and you want them to have a close sister bond, but right now they tease and taunt each other a lot. Your like watching documentary films on Netflix, discovering new food trucks, and making love with your husband.
