Does anyone remember Wildwood Deli on Old Georgetown Road? We went there every Friday night for pizza. Sad when it shut down.

Chevy Chase Bank (when I was kid, I always thought this was the "fancy" bank)
Being able to take a tour of the WH by just getting in line outside and waiting for your turn to go in. No special tickets needed. No screening, background checks, etc.

I grew up in Bethesda and you used to be able to drive into Naval Medical (now Walter Reed) to go to the McDonald’s. I also learned to drive on the roads all over NIH on the weekends when they were empty.

I grew up in the Pentagon City area and I remember when you could just walk into the Pentagon to visit the mall inside (yes, a mall with stores smack dab in the middle of the Pentagon!). No security checks, no nothing!
