It seems the easiest way to get their trial separated from Trump's. For whatever reason, Chesebro doesn't like his odds on the conspiracy charges when the entirety of the case is laid out.

Sidney Powell? She's a hot mess. She personally directed a team to inspect voting equipment and take data. So maybe she wants to go first, see how the trial develops and then accept a plea because the bigger fish is still to come.

Remind me why they have anything to do with this one?? I’m having trouble keeping it all straight.

That Kraken is cracking and falling apart...

Hilarious to think back to all of those prognostications of how Trump would be reinstated and that there would be tribunals prosecuting Biden for stealing the election...

Turns out the exact opposite is the case.

Bet there will before a few more before the speedy trials start. Earlier folks will get the better deals.

Yeah Hall isn’t getting any prison time. Probation for five years (and a fine etc), but no prison.

I bet there are a lot of Republicans, 17 to be exact, who are at home weighing their party loyalty vs their loyalty to democracy.

What? Of course not.

Their personal interest of not going to prison is in conflict with their personal interest of not being attacked by Trump and his rabid terrorists, and of killing any future in the GOP should the MAGA infestation persist.

It was always about what they could get. They don't care a fart about Democracy or even the interests of the GOP. It's not about some grand political ideology. Some of them wanted to grift off election lies. Some of them sought high positions in the government. The little people wanted to feel control and power over an entire nation. It was always about each of them, individually. Trump is all about himself, and attracts similar personalities.

Agree that they were in it for the myriad reasons you cite. But, unless they are truly delusional, they’ve seen Trump throw everyone else under the bus. Trump has no loyalty to others.

Now they have to weigh the very real probability of prison (increased by one of the insiders testifying) against the possibility of Trump winning in ‘24 and remembering who they are. It’s more like the buddy you confide in about how awful your significant other is and then ice out when you get back together because you’re embarrassed. They know too much and are associated with shame.

Georgia, the only state remaining where Republicans in charge have somewhat of a spine: the state Senate kicked Colton Moore out of their caucus.

He has no chance to get it transferred to federal court of Meadows failed, the federal court judge who is handling the removal attempts has not been favorable to anyone who has tried. It’s not much of a delay tactic since that judge and the 11th circuit have been moving so quickly, and it might not be worth tipping the prosecutors off to whatever TF his defense might be if he won’t prevail.

Also, going to be televised.
