Not the PP to whom you are responding.

The story is sourced. Please correct the errors. Quit attacking the messenger. This reporter has investigated this pretty deeply. Let's hear what he gets wrong.

The Daily Caller is definitely not Alex Jones level. You are deflecting from the facts.

Why did DWS keep Awan on her payroll after the authorities cut him off from the system?
That's question #1.

but, feel free to correct the errors in the story. Otherwise, you have no basis for your criticism.

I have every basis, my tinfoil-wearing darlingo. Here is a reputable parsing of a scandal whipped from rancid oil and mental illness. (Now, go ahead with your inevitable whining about the Amazon Post now, please be free to be yourself!):

See, when you search for DWS and Awan, all the “current” posts are NOT the work of journalists. They’re the fevered dreams of bloggers. They’re they work of Comet Ping Pongers. I know you’re embarrassed, and I’m embarrassed for you. Jeff allows the thread because it’s your Thorazine.

And this? This is liberalism folks

And this, this a Russian troll, folks. Or a Fairfax Underground troll.
Same thing.

Wrong on both counts. LOL.

You really aren't either?
C'mon, nobody's that stupid to be going for this, are they?

Virginia housewife who never goes to FFX Underground because I find them to be rather repulsive over there. I am part Russian as my family ran from the Cossacks back in the day, but I was born here as were my parents.

Do you consider Politico to be fringe?

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/house-staff-criminal-investigation-234714

National Review?

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/report-house-democrats-exempted-pakistani-it-aides-from-background-checks/

Even the anti-communist Epoch Times reported on it:

https://www.theepochtimes.com/inspector-general-report-says-democrat-hired-pakistani-aides-made-unauthorized-access-to-government-networks_2422089.html

The real question is, why is mainstream so quick to bury it?

Obviously you don’t care about the security of government IT. But you should try to understand that many of us actually do.

Actually I do, more than you'll ever know.

It’s envious white men with IT backgrounds, right-wing politics and particular susceptibility to conspiracy. Their focus is on pay and ethnicity. You can see in just the last page how much they move he goalposts. You can’t win wrestling feces-covered pigs like these men who “know” DWS engaged in computer based conspiracies.

This story is about a lot more than a lack of background checks. It is about the hiring of questionable people who were paid more than the going rate for work on the Hill.
It is not just about a lack of background checks--although, it does appear that little was done to check the background of these employees. The leader of the group has a lot of very troubling issues in his resume. Perhaps, it was all after he was hired. Or not.

It still does not explain why he was kept on the payroll by DWS after he was removed from the system. It also does not explain the missing laptop that showed up in the building in what appears to be the modern version of a telephone booth.

It does not explain how all these other people got on the payroll, either.

Did they do background checks on these other people?

And, if they had access to the emails of Congressmen and women, doesn't it seem that they should have had a security clearance, as well?

This is all troubling--and, there has not been a good explanation given of how this nefarious character managed to get such a high salary for himself and his relatives/buddies. Especially, when he was apparently busy running some kind of bogus autosales scam, as well.
Please note that his rental tenant, a Marine, found computers and CDs in his garage and turned them over to the FBI. Nice guy--yet DWS said he was being targeted because he was Muslim..........

Something smells.

DP. If the story is inaccurate, why don’t you just tell us what’s inaccurate about it? It shouldn’t be hard.

PP pointed out REPEATEDLY and politely that there is literally no ongoing random brand-new background/deep dive security check after the employment screening. It does not exist. The story hangs off of a completely false framework and narrative and goes to why DWS in her naïveté could literally have feared Awan was being subject initially to discriminatory actions.

You don’t live in a post Title VII, melting pot, decent, reality-based world. So we’re done here, and your fantasy about “lock [multiple] her[s] up!!!!!” are never, ever, ever happening- but Flynn, Manafort, Gates, Papad, possibly Roger Stone, possible Lushner, and several others,
aRE.

I think you’re confused as to what this story is about. Hint: It doesn’t hinge on the frequency of background checks.

Let’s pretend for the sake of argument that all of these people somehow passed background checks despite their alleged mortgage fraud, multiple DUIs, lawsuits, payments from shady Iraqis, 911 calls alleging violence and threats, bankruptcy filing, etc. Even if that were the case, there would still be a major story here about unauthorized access to and downloading of confidential government info as well as over $100k in theft of government property (among other things).

Do Dems really care about the government’s information security? Or was all that Russia hype just meant to serve as a scapegoat for Hillary’s loss?
