Do you think the account was made up? I can't figure out a motive, and think it's odd that FOUR individuals would be in on a false account. At the same time it seems quite coincidental that out of all of the athletes, this happened to Lochte.

Lochte is a tool- but there was no way that this story was true by Brazil's version. Many many countries - including Brazil- are run by corrupt people and this kind of events are normal- fortunately the swimmers were obviously olympic athletes, they had money to get them off their backs. They easily could have been some blip in another death - I would say if the spotlight had not been on Rio/brazil however a coach was killed during the Olympics so there goes that. You simply cannot compare how the US handles these issues with other countries such as Brazil.
