Id say Nicaragua is starting to be easier to travel to and safer than Costa Rica despite government issues.
I love how Dcumlandia has literally written off half of the USA as “no go” zones for political reasons yet has no problem with traveling to countries like Nicaragua and El Salvador (not to mention the bulk of Arab nations)…apparently politics and human rights on apply to Red States.
Cant wait to see Peru and Colombia next.

Maybe the stereotypes that people associate with India, which I think is absolute BS. I am sure India has a lot of nice places to go through and it still holds a very rich culture. Some people are just ignoring it.

Agreed and I used to love traveling around the US and seeing National Parks, etc. I now only plan international vacations for the exact reasons you stated. It's such a better value for the money.
As for India, I lived in India for a few years. I get why the PP said they hated it. The worst thing about it was the air pollution. It's something that you just don't understand unless you go there. It's that bad. But I loved traveling all around India but you cannot do it on a shoestring budget if you want anything that resembles travel expectations in the West. Else you will be stuck with accommodations with bucket showers, no AC, squatty toilets/no tp, etc.
Yeah, I also lived in India and wouldn't say I hate it but I totally get why people do.

This is probably true! 😂 I have to be very careful traveling abroad because of stomach issues. Alas I will never be able to enjoy genuine street food anywhere- it's too risky.

I like most places, but two that I despised were Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg. I did find the beach and water nice in Myrtle, but everything else, no thanks. As for Gatlinburg, love the Smokies, but the town is not my cup of tea. And some might say I’m a snob, but I love Ocean City (in small doses), but at least in OC I can be there in 3 or 4 hours. Why would I drive ten hours on 95 (that’s how long it took us) for the same experience in Myrtle?

Las Vegas is ok for a day or two. The “glitz,” some might call “tackiness,” can be fun, but it is also a pretty depressing place. What Vegas does have going for it is a central location to a lot of cool places in the SW- Death Valley, Valley of Fire, Zion, Bryce, Mt Charleston and Red Rock Canyon is literally right next to the city.

El “Maryland” has barely had any issues anyway.
