I’m curious how long people will enjoy their neighborhoods when it’s difficult to get this services at their door. It’s also important to point out that this design directly contradicts the DOT recommendations. No better way to deaden a community than to make it so that traffic cannot stop.
I’m not totally clear what the problem is on that block, but sure, there are always mistakes and improvements. The people who want to get in the way of any changes slow that process down.
You are clearly intellectually lazy, which is why you get so much wrong. The report goes into great detail about what the problem is. They took away the parking/curb lane for a bike lane and now there is no place for deliveries to stop at these new, luxury apartments. I’d imagine that if you are paying premium for an apartment, you would hope that you could easily get deliveries and be able to catch a taxi or Uber in front. However, when the transportation priorities are to remove street parking and let cyclists maintain momentum the flip side is that it decreases the quality of life for thousands of people.
I clicked on the clip and it didn’t go into that much detail. Generally DDOT plans for delivery and pick up/drop off areas. Yes, it’s a change. Yes, everything can be improved.

I’m sorry but it’s just true. North of Mt. Pleasant/Columbia Heights, greater than 50% of people living in communities adjacent to 16th street commute by automobile.

I posted data specifically on the 16th st bus corridor.
You specifically wrote “on 16th” street. Now that you are being exposed for your exaggerations you are trying to back pedal. Pretty sad.
ok dude, you win! I am a complete liar. my evil plan is to bankrupt DC so I can turn it into a CRT and gay agenda reeducation camp where everyone is forced to wear lycra and ride road bikes.
happy now?
meanwhile … everyone following this thread should know that unfortunately, jerks like PP actually spend a lot of time IRL making these crazy, time-wasting, bad faith arguments about all sorts of traffic and development and housing issues. It’s a real waste of everyone’s energy and, writ large, one reason why it is so hard to improve infrastructure in the US.
A lot of projection here.
I mean, there is really no reason to engage with the PP incessantly accusing people of lying. It’s not a legitimate way to have a conversation. Idiotic bad faith hyperbole gets the same back from me.
