EXACTLY. I suggested starting a new thread myself. It could be called, "Miniscule and Unimportant Editorial Discrepancies: This is Us." That way, the rest of us who simply want to enjoy the story and the characters, won't have to wade through that nonsense.
I would like a new thread called This Is Us: I Must Have Missed Something for all the posts about things that are obvious if you're actually watching the show (e.g., Why was Randall there when the foster parents were meeting the little boy? When/why did Rebecca put on her Steelers shirt again? What was the significance of the smoke detector? How was the doctor there, I thought he died? The Springsteen tickets say January 31, 1988; what year did Jack die? etc. etc. etc.) I'd rather not have to wade through that nonsense. The show is almost too obvious and yet DCUM posters can't seem to follow it.

I agree it's a great show, and I think the writers do a fantastic job of tying everything together. I, personally, couldn't care less if Jack's hair isn't blowing in the correct direction as determined by the Farmer's Almanac for that precise day and hour.
Others might.

I didn't understand the little boy foster child storyline. Why was Randall there if another couple was there for the little boy?
It was a flash forward. The social worker in that scene was grown up Tess. Randall came to have lunch with her.
Thank you! That makes sense. I need to stop playing Candy Crush while I watch TV.

I wonder why Kevin/Kate struggle with addiction, feeling they aren't worthy, etc. Is that genetic from Jack and Rebecca or is that manufactured from their relationships with their parents.
I love this show but I also hate that it's making me wonder what I'm doing now with my kids that will affect them later. It's a very powerful story!
I'm actually surprised that Randall doesn't have an addiction gene, as both his parents were addicts. I like Randall - he makes me laugh and he's such a good father and husband - but lately, he's been so annoying. Too goofy, or something.

What I observe is that Rebecca and Jack are always on the same team, wheras my husband and I snap at each other when the kids aren't behaving the way we want to.
It does make me want to be better as a wife.
I’m the one who posted about the propping up after the MRI and, yes, we used to have closer to this type of marriage. Definitely gushing love and loved spending time together (not Jack’s ability to reassure/save) but kids killed that.
How old are your kids? Rebecca and Jack had hard years while the kids were young.

20 years ago. So 1998.
They said the Super Bowl that day was the one when Elway got his first ring. So January 25, 1998.
Ha. I was in a little jet in Australia that day headed to the Outback with a group of people. We were curious about the Super Bowl - Green Bay was heavily favored - and we got the flight attendant to get the pilot to check on the score. We were gobsmacked when she got on the speaker and, in her Australian accent, announced, “The Broncos have won the Super Bowl.” “The Broncos??” we all shouted in unison. Memories!
