You had no idea you were pregnant.
You thought it was that last energy chewy thing you ate at the last rest stop on the century you were riding on your sweet new bike, perhaps a muscle cramp. Lo and behold, when the SAG wagon arrived, out popped a baby boy! So perfect! Ten fingers, ten toes, eyes like rainy pools. You were totally blindsided...by love.
As you moved from the SAG wagon to the ambulance, and then to the hospital, you realized you had, among other hallmarks of no preparation, no names to give this child. You looked at the tag on the onsie the hospital staff dressed him in, and you realized Fate had stepped in and graced you with this one small solution. "Carter," you whispered sweetly to the little bundle in your arms. "Oh, Carter!"
Two years and a wedding later (a beautiful outdoorsy affair with homemade paper flowers), you were blessed with another child, this time a girl. Isabelle. How beautiful!

Ah yes, Carter and Isabelle.
You met DH in college but dated a long time before you got married. You didn't intend to have kids right away, but you got a little caught up in the enthusiasm of the first year of marriage and along came Carter. Ironically, Isabelle followed pretty quickly afterwards. You're now quite pleased with how close in age they are, once you got through the initial panic.
You and DH both work full time. The passion is still there. DH does spend a fair amount of time on the weekends going mountain biking, but you make him pay for that by booking yoga classes and massages on a regular basis. All in all, you share parenting pretty well.
You moved into a small cape right after Carter was born. You'd love to move into a bigger house but you keep watching the market and just can't figure out how to make it work, financially. You like to entertain and use your back deck a lot.
DH grew up in Portland - he's pretty laid back, but he likes DC, especially the restaurants. He also likes the distance from his family. Your parents are on the east coast, but not close by. You regret that Carter and Isabelle don't get to see their grandparents more often (their maternal grandparents, that is).

You are a native of France. You studied at Columbia and ar working in the U.S. for the World Bank. you are 5'3 and people think you look like Audry Hepburn. Your DH is a Brit. He's a former rugby player, good looking except for his teeth (I know, such a stereotype!) and when he laughs with his mouth full. He works for a British company and spends at least 3 of every 4 weeks in England, which is actually just fine with you.
You speak only French to Sabine and her nanny speaks only Spanish. At four years old, she is trilingual and thriving! You're planning to send her to Maret or H[b]olton Arms. Every couple of months you go to the Round Robin Bar and wind up having sex with one of the traveling businessmen you flirt with.
the bolded is the only correct part, but man, what a life!
