Also Loyola gave enough merit aid where the COA would be $25k all in.

I have kid at Loyola and one at UVA. Loyola is better ROI so far.

Train from DC/Alexandria to Baltimore is under $20. Good luck making your decision!

Do they commute from DC area to Loyala Baltimore for class or other activities? Or it's that cheap and close to visit your kid/your kid visit you while they are at Loyala?

They don't commute, but is really convenient to visit for an O's game or Ravens game. My kid can also come home for haircuts or dental appointments and go back to school the next day. We even saved money on the student health plan ($3000) b/c if he needs something like a strep test, he can go to the pediatrician at home. Our other option would have included a need for a car on campus or a lot of flights. Just things that are worth factoring in...

When did you apply to Pitt? Could the date of application have made the difference in not receiving merit $? Did they think your kid doesn't *need* merit $?

He applied 9/15 and was admitted pretty quickly. Honors came in November. They might be able to surmise from his summer experiences and our jobs that i don't need to merit, certainly.

My DS was accepted to Pitt Business and honors and got $5K/year merit two years ago. Do not expect significant merit for their biz, it is one of their most popular programs.

My kid last cycle got 15k from biz school, honors.

I’m surprised to hear that about SC too, my kid is a Capstone scholar there w $16k a year of merit, but received nothing from IU Kelley direct admit or Pitt business.

I think Indiana merit comes out separately in the next few weeks.
