All four have pipelines of talent that feed in. It is great hearing about them and the big match-ups but also love to hear about other programs that have to recruit athletes from other sports -- underdog stories are the best and often times more interesting. Keep posting about the "insignificant" teams!!
What about Robinson and Battlefield -- isn't there a Power 6? Agree with prior post - let's hear from all the teams. Just like March Madness Oakland isn't going to win the NCAA Championship but it still was a great story beating Kentucky.

Not to take anything away from Westfield or South Lakes, but what happened to Oakton. Do they have significant injuries? Or just no chemistry?
Both games, stupid mistakes. So many unforced errors, clearing has been brutal. Oakton parent here. Also seemed to get outworked in both, taking these teams for granted. That being said, WF and SL were much better than I thought based on their results. Never thought we’d be losing the ground ball battle to south lakes!
Oakton dominated the entire game (shots, time of possession, face offs, ...) until a late rush by South Lakes so give them some credit for not giving up. I also heard South Lakes had several starters out with injuries and had to put a long pole on offense most of the game.
In last year's Oakton vs SL game, Oakton dominated. It wasn't even close, and only ended 11-3 because Oakton took out its starters in the second half.
In this season's game SL defense denied Oakton any points in the second half, which is what enabled SL to come back and win. That's not domination, for all that Oakton looked certain to win when it was up 6-1 in the third quarter.

LOL so the others are "significant?" Out side of the parents and girlfriends few people really care about VHSL lax at all. I think it is fine to discuss other teams. In the private school discussion is there only talk of two teams?
Agree!
My son is on one of the four mentioned teams, and in our house the team is a super big deal, but the world at large does not care much about HS lacrosse, especially Virginia public’s. The nice thing about this forum is that it brings together the people who do care from all the different programs.
The gross thing about this forum is the jackasses who think only certain teams are "significant" and "matter".![]()

Yep, no need to disparage any teams. Most of the kids in VHSL will play their last lacrosse game at the high school level. None of the teams are relevant nationally and none of this really matters. It's still fun to talk about all of the teams, even if they are just fighting for a 10th place spot or an Also Considered mention. Hayfield was 3-8 a few years ago and now will probably go undefeated. That's pretty cool, even if they won't win the state championship this year.

What did the Langley parents say here that offended you so?
