Well, I don't know. I do not trust the mainstream Canadian media, TBH. Not in reporting this. They are paid by the Canadian gov. And why did they not use them for 3 weeks, all those arsenals of weapons? It doesn't add up. They had them, and they sat in their cars and did nothing with them?
I am not saying these are planted, but why were they not used? Heck, we had protesters on the 6th swarm the Capitol in leather Haloween outfits!

Did you take the same stance during the protests and riots of the summer of 2020? Or, were those "righteous" and "good" and therefore, the closing of a highway or businesses are just the cost of supporting the cause?

1) they were protesting a murder by police
2) they were protesting. The rioting and fires etc were generally set by right wingers
3) they lasted a day here and a day there. It wasn't a sustained seige, except in portland and seattle where it turns out, yep, right wingers again.

If you don't want to work, then don't. But that doesn't give you the right to block a public street for weeks on end because you don't want to work.

People were arrested for prolonged obstruction or confrontation. Protesters were arrested if they committed crimes. Don’t be daft. Peaceful protesters were gassed and beaten by the Park Police to clear Lafayette Square so Trump could pose with an upside down Bible.

The rights of one person *always* imposes a burden on others. It's the nature of rights. As Jeremy Bentham put it:

Rights and obligations, though distinct and opposite in their nature, are simultaneous in their origin, and inseparable in their existence. According to the nature of things, the law cannot grant a benefit to any, without, at the same time, imposing a burden on some one else; or, in other words, a right cannot be created in favor of any one, without imposing a corresponding obligation on another. No idea what process is due in Canada, but in the U.S. an officer can be justified in using deadly force on a fleeing individual who refuses orders to stop if the person is a danger to others.
