I found this sad too. This is not something people in healthy relationships say. She was obviously used to being put down by him and told ("I can't do any of it") that she is not capable, for whatever reason. She probably did have mental issues, but he seemed to use that as leverage over her. The above should have been a red flag for DV but I understand why it was not (kiiiinda).

The parents knew that there was no need to frantically search for a missing alive person. They knew she was not alive.

Spouse and I were just talking about this. A trip like this with young people who have some issues was a recipe for disaster. I think the video from police showed a troubled duo. The police officer did a good job separating them for the night but a shame he was probably not allowed to call their parents. Clearly the trip needed to end. I think many parents have been drawn to this story because across the country trips seem to be a norm thing for young people but bad things can happen. I have a feeling they will not find this young man alive. I also think the behavior of his family was bizarre. There was no concern for this young women and it leads me to believe they knew. If they knew then surely they should be charged with something.

OMG STOPPP!! He fake texted her mom, drive home without her and told police nothing, ever.

I the mom said regularly, not daily. I don’t blame the parents. I blame the murderer.

Don’t you dare ask where her parents were. They did not know about the police video until after she was missing. They only knew what their adult daughter told them. The second something felt off and they didn’t hear from her they began calling Brian, his parents and then the police. They did everything right here, so don’t for a second criticize grieving parents.

The entire time the police video was filming she was on the phone with her parents sobbing. So they didn’t see her but they heard her sobbing to them. And they said she called daily
