I think they only have 4 or 5 travel teams. But if the U12s moved to GFR, that's one less. I don't think they even have a girls travel team.

They are a small club with not much glamor but they have several good teams. Given the size of their player pool, they are doing a pretty good job at developing the available talent.

Loudoun Red is Loudoun's top team at U12 and younger level. At U13, they become Loudoun ECNL, then their Black team is renamed into Red, the White team becomes Black, etc.

sterling is ncsl for their lower/younger teams and edp for their higher teams and since they went undefeated in div 1 ncsl they move to edp like their 07 team did a few years ago

Sterling U12s are not in EDP.

GFR top team listed in NCSL. They don't play in that league (VPSL-ECNL R). Read between the lines....

Better teams playing ECNL R, not NCSL.

GFR is listed at ECNL R schedule. https://admin.totalglobalsports.com/public/flightstandings.aspx?eid=2385&fid=12596
It looks like they play in both leagues.

I don't think so there is no way great falls Napoli beat Villarreal academy

Well the league score says so. So must be a way.

A lot of o session about U12 soccer here to make parental egos feel better. Assuming the 11 years old are not posting from elementary school

The U12 Great Falls team is actually Sterling playing in their place so that they don't lose every game.

Is that what happened to 2010B sterling orange? Couldn’t find them in the other leagues

Yes. ECNL-R evaluates each club at the end of the season. W/L is obviously one of the metrics. GFR avoids getting 0 wins by slipping Sterling into that U12 spot.

GFR's top team finished near the top of the table in their league last year. Perhaps the Sterling team or a good number of their players moved to GRF, which would make GFR top team even stronger.

We just lost 0-5 to the GFR team. Thought we had a chance going in but it was the entire Sterling team dressed in GFR kits. The GFR team did not even finish top 4 last season. I guess in the world of 9th place ribbons they still qualify as "near the top of the table". With the addition of Loudoun and Arlington I'm guessing GFR saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to put up a 0 in the win column (maybe they could have squeezed out a win vs Stafford?)

GFR handled VSA with ease in both games last year. VSA 2010's are a disaster. If anyone should be worrying about a goose egg this year, it's VSA. Thanks for your input.

Division pillow fight arguing which one is softer LOL!!! Loudoun would beat both by double digits.

I know that you guys are specifically talking about U12 here, but man the theories are bananas. GFR U13 beat Loudon in our ECNL-R game yesterday. I'm betting U14 did the same yesterday too (they played right after us and I couldnt stay to watch them). Nobody is from the Sterling team, 90% of our boys on the U13 has been playing together since they were in pre-travel. (we lost a few kids who went to Arlington, Loudon and Bethesda, but they were replaced by other strong long term GFR club players) I was searching for the standings for our ECNL-R division....but then this thread came up. You guys made me laugh with your ridiculous theories and bitter grapes though. Thanks.

You say that you know that they were specifically discussing U12s, so you go and talk about U13s and U14s to discredit what they were talking about????? You're a moron.

GFR U12 beat Loudoun 4-1 in ECNL-R game. Based on what PP said, it sounds like U13, U14 also beat Loudoun.

Correction, I looked at the wrong age group. U12 GFR beat Loudoun 3-0 and VSA 5-0.

Where will those players end up at u13

Loudoun team will move to ECNL, a higher level league. The team that beat them 3-0 stays in the lower level league, ECNL-R. That's US soccer for you.

Loudoun’s top team is playing edp in Atlantic development league, which is the only year and division where the best area boys teams (other than pipeline and pwsi/vda) all play each other in the same division, and then split up for mls next and ecnl. I really wish they just did this U9-12 for these teams on the boys side.

This was the case in CCL. The top clubs played against each other in that age group (Bethesda, Arlington, Loudoun, Alexandria, and other middling clubs). That all changed recently when CCL imploded

Loudon red is playing ECNL-R (from the looks of it similar in crappy level as CCL)
Loudon black is playing NCSL
loudon gray, silver, gold, green are also NCSL

Is Sterling a good club?
