There are actual art exhibits dedicated to showing what women were wearing when they were assaulted, and it is all kinds of clothes. A predator is a predator and they are not moved by the sartorial choices of children or women.

You really need to reexaming your ingrained misogyny as you approach puberty with your teen daughter. You are about to instill some really damaging and self esteem hurting things that will perhaps make her MORE vulnerable to being a victim of a man trying to use her. And make her less likely to report something if it did happen to her because you will have implied that it was somehow her fault.

There are many two piece bathing suits that are appropriate for young girls, and many reasons to not choose them. Frankly I prefer the rash guards for the sun. But what I do, is give my daughter choices and she decides what to wear. She has a one piece, she has some two pieces, she has a rash guard, and she decides how she feels about her clothes that day. And she's 5.

You are at an age where your daughter is going to start to rebel, and you want to teach her to be confident enough in herself that she makes good choices even when not under your (very) watchful eye. Trusting her and allowing her to express herself in safe contained situations like this is a good first step.

Just looked them up. Highest risk factor for being abducted is being in state care (80% of abductions). Another huge percentage are abducted by a family member. Outside of those, attempted abductions occur most frequently while children are traveling to and from school, or while playing or riding bikes outside. Saw nothing about 2-pieces.
