I can't believe how offensively rude some people are on this thread. Some people are naturally very thin. This does not make them anorexic or disgusting. Sometimes it's just genetics. Think about how you might feel if someone calls you obese and disgusting. Well, calling someone anorexic and disgusting can be just as hurtful and just as untrue. So long as we're healthy, our bodies are all beautiful.

As some people have already commented, buying nice clothing can be very difficult when you are quite thin. Catwalk models may often be very thin, but the average store does not cater to women who are below a US size 4.

I live in Australia, so our stores are different, but I can sympathise with your difficulty. I'm the equivalent of a US size 0 and I only know of three stores in Australia that stock work clothing in my size and price range. I shop online quite a bit, so I'm interested to hear some of the store suggestions others have made.

And when u r fortunate enough to find an item u like .... It may decide to go and change the first time u wash it.....and Now that it's not returnable........ It's back to the store to spend more cash on another...... Potential item....... So yessssss advice IS NEEDED.......

Thin and curvy is when it's hard to buy clothes

I have found a few skinny pants at TJMaxx lately. Size 0 that will stay up. I also shop at Nordsrm Rack. I have had a lot of success finding great brands of gently used suits in my tiny size at really nice vintage/consignment shops. Some folks finally give up ever being a size 0 again and drop off some very cool threads. I often find Banana Republic and Antonio Melani dresses and suits.

Sorry. I've not had much luck with pants either. No butt. lol Find two or three pairs you love that almost fit and spend a few bucks having them tailored to fit your body. You'll be glad you did. It's worth it.

I am 5'3" and weigh 102 lbs. I am very fit, and no you cannot see my ribs. And YES this is a huge problem for thin women.

No, stores do not cater to us. Finding a 0 most women's clothing stores is impossible, and what's left on the clearance rack are hideous and mismatched. The lowest size most stores carry is a 4, which looks like a tent on me. It's really frustrating when trying to find a good suit. Juniors and Forever 21 don't cut it quality wise.

As a non-curvy girl (ballet body), I have had some success with Antonio Melani size 0 and Banana Republic size 0. Ebay may help, but they are more expensive than Dillards clearance. You can sometimes find them in Dillards in larger areas/towns. I usually have to buy separates and have them altered. I should just learn to sew. My life would be easier.

Women w/ curves don't like being called fat nor do women who are thin don't like being called skinny. It's rude and since we thin sisters don't conform to the norm (having extra pounds) doesn't mean we aren't w/o our dressing challanges!
I'm 44 & thin, have NO curves (yes I've tried childbirth, 3 times) and would like to find AGE APPROPRIATE clothing that flatters. Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, etc, all cater to younger women). Banana Republic & the Loft have more mature fashions but are pretty expensive (our clothes take less fabric so they shouldn't be so pricey, just sayin

I have discovered Peplum & I love it! Great style to add a little hip

I'm tall and thin and there are only a few brands of pants I've found that fit me: Vince, Theory and Burberry. I usually stick to wrap dresses for work unless it's cold. They almost always fit.

Thin ppl are so easily butt hurt. Only one eat more comment in the entire thread.

I'm not one of the PPs who wrote that, but it's at least as helpful as thin people suggesting we fatties "eat less."

I'm 22, 96 pounds and 5'5". I have a job that requires dress pants, and I have found one pair. I end up wearing dresses and being cold because I just cannot find pants. As for all of the "eat more" responses here, don't you think if that worked, I would do it? Thanks to an overactive thyroid and metabolism, it isn't exactly that easy.

I read through this entire thread out of morbid curiosity and I'm 5'10" and 165.

Eat more, problem solved.

Im with you on this. I 5'8 and 105. I'm a new teacher and looking to get professional clothing. I struggle as well because 0 is too big and too short. I have had success at nyand company for tops but can't find dress pants. For those of you that think we have it easy... The stores clip the clothes on mannequins, and runway clothes are altered for models and not appropriate for work.
